The Bush as the Intervention,
Not the Setting
Eco Ranges is Gabriel Carazo's NDIS adventure mentor support service — a nature-based therapeutic mentoring program built on the same research foundation as RAD DADS, specifically adapted for children and families navigating disability, neurodivergence, and developmental complexity.
The Macedon Ranges bush is not a backdrop for this service. It is the intervention. Natural environments provide sensory architecture — gravity, texture, sound, temperature variation, unpredictability — that no built environment can replicate. For children with sensory processing differences, regulation challenges, or anxiety presentations, the bush offers exactly what therapeutic settings often cannot: real consequence, genuine challenge, and the neurobiological reset of nature itself.
Gabriel's approach integrates the NRSCP (Neuro-Relational Sensitive Challenging Play) methodology with his clinical background in attachment, activation, and co-regulation — translated into father-specific and family-specific outdoor adventure contexts.
"The bush gives children with regulation challenges something no sensory room can: genuine unpredictability within a relational activation context. The creek that is actually cold. The log that actually wobbles. The challenge that cannot be pre-calibrated."
